Upgrade of LIN SB RAS equipment in 2023

The program to renew the instrumentation and equipment base in 2023 has been successfully completed! In recent months, the Institute has received:

Batometer cassette for 12 batometers

The bathometric cassette is designed to sample water to depths of up to 2000 m and to carry a suite of hydrophysical sensors mounted on it. Digital control automatically takes water samples at defined depths when the cassette is lowered or raised. The bottom touch sensor on the bathometer cassette was added by the manufacturer at the request of Limnological Institute. This feature enables bottom water sampling without stirring up the bottom sediments. Its small size and weight (90 kg) allow it to be used in scientific expeditions from the R/V “Titov” and from the ice of the lake.

Olympus BX43 microscope

The microscope is equipped with accessories for the analysis of microspecimens in transmitted light using light field, dark field, and Nomarski Differential Interference Contrast (DIC) techniques. The professional camera ADF PRO 20 allows for high-quality photo and video shooting of the investigated objects, with subsequent digital processing of the obtained images.

Equipment control system of the closed water supply

The control system is designed for monitoring whitefish habitat conditions, including long-term automatic remote measurement of oxygen concentration, CO2, pH, red/ox, and other values in mini-closed water supply units. It is possible to control external devices for automatic maintenance of environmental parameters within specified limits.

AQUALAB Supreme 18+ ultrapure water system

The system allows to obtain water of purity degree 1 according to GOST R 52501-2005 “Water for laboratory Analysis,” type I according to ASTM D1193-06(2011), ISO 3696, CLRW according to CLSI, as well as water meeting the requirements of FS.22.0020.18 “Purified Water,” FS.22.0019.18 “Water for Injections,” and other standards for ultrapure water.

In total, more than 75 million rubles were spent on the purchase of scientific instruments and equipment in 2023, including the following: Flash Chromatography System SepaBean Machine Т, four-component radiometer-balance meter, complex for measuring hydrological parameters and water quality, oscilloscope digital storage С8-205/2, special pressure controller KDS-1-2, IKS-1 precision resistance calibrator-meter, QUANTOM Tx™ Microbial Cell Counter Basic, laboratory nitrogen generator PROMTEGRA SPUTNIK, GL-21M refrigerated centrifuge, cell bioreactor, amplifier Real-time CFX96 С1000 Touch, spectrophotometer EzDrop 1000, double-beam spectrophotometer Sintecon СDA-4, inverted microscope Olympus IX83, microscope Olympus BX43, AQUALAB ultrapure water system, spraying unit Desktop Sputter, control system of RAS, EWAI ion chromatograph IC 2800, bathometer cassette for 12 bathometers, and car “Sobol”.
