Level measuring stations on the Irkut, Selenga and Barguzin Rivers

Within the the project “Basis, methods and technologies of digital monitoring and forecast of ecological situation of Baikal Natural Territory” supported by Irkutsk Oblast and Buryat Republic authorities, Russian Railways, employees of the Limnological Institute established test automatic water level measurement stations on the Irkut, Selenga and Barguzin Rivers. The water level measurement stations are an experimental project of the Laboratory of Hydrology and Hydrophysics and allow measuring automatically water level and main meteorological parameters such as wind rate and direction, air temperature, humidity, precipitations, atmospheric pressure. The measured data are transferred to the server of the Limnological Institute via non-wire channels. The radio wave level measurer and meteorological sensor unit are included in the register of tools for measurements and are useful for further use in the field of state regulation for measurement tools provision.
